Vergezicht Groningen is a collaboration between artist Gus Drake and documentary photographer Dirk Jan Visser making a photo and video portrait series from six Groningen residents from the earthquake zone who share their perspectives on the future.

In recent years, the attention from the national media for the province of Groningen has often been related to the natural gas problem. But Groningen is more than just earthquakes. Verzicht Groningen, panorama of the future is a multimedia exhibition in which six Groningen residents share perspectives on the future.

The natural gas problem in Groningen has long been a far-from-my-bed show for The Hague and the rest of the Netherlands. Until the crisis became so great that it finally demanded the inevitable attention of politicians and media in recent years. At the end of February, the Groningen parliamentary committee on natural gas extraction will publish its final report. Much needs to be restored, both physically and in terms of trust and administrative relationships. But it is also the time to look forward again.
